Schefflera aka "Umbrella Tree" or "Umbrella Plant" love bright indirect light and will grow quickly with ample light. Keep out of harsh, direct sunlight as they can get sunburnt.

They like to dry out in between waterings and don't like being consistently soggy. Pot in well-draining soil in a pot with adequate drainage and water once about every 10-14 days. Slowly flood soil with water and allow soil to thoroughly absorb water. Allow excess water to drain out of hole(s) in the base of the planter. 

If leaves begin turning yellow and/or drop, you are overwatering.
